The presented article presents the impact of using a heat accumulator in The heat and power plant supplying the Municipal Heating System on the level of pollutant emissions dust into the atmospheric air. The influence of heat accumulators on the efficiency of heat production and transfer is widely known and better integration, i.e. better use of renewable energy sources and the so-called energy waste. As can be seen from the conducted research and analyses, the use of accumulators also provides heat significant ecological effects. Objectified results, i.e. taking into account similar energy production volume and climatic conditions for the compared years, i.e. before and after installation of the heat accumulator clearly shows a significant reduction in suspended dust emissions PM during energy production in an EC after installing a heat accumulator. In the analyzed case, the total annual amount of reduction of suspended dust was approximately 27%, and the maximum emission decreased by approximately 29%. As shown in the article, it is also possible to reduce the nuisance of the occurrence and creation of the phenomenon smog, by using a heat accumulator.
